The Cross of America™ was
designed and developed after the September 11th, 2001, tragedy
as a way to express what I was feeling about what had happened.
The sense of helplessness that came over all of us in those days
following, gave way to the thought that we wanted a way to express our
faith in God and faith in our country to get us through this.
As I watched television and
saw films of the flag being draped over the World Trade Center, I kept
thinking "they need a cross up there." All of
a sudden there was a picture in my mind of a cross hugged by the American
flag. I immediately
felt a call to bring this idea to fruition so that I and others who
desired to, would have a symbol to wear that would express our feelings. A simple,
visible way to express the faith we have in our God and in our Country
to stand united against terrorism. So while the hearts of Americans
were torn . the Cross of America™ was born.
During the first days
after the event, a donation of the few dollars that we could afford
to a charity, or a pint of blood didn't seem to be enough. I knew
I wanted to do something bigger to actually see the results of the effort. Thus, we formed this company in hopes that it would be profitable enough to donate a large portion to legitimate disaster relief agencies.
As America comes together,
and patriotism is at an all time high, we are attempting to let people
know there is another symbol they can hold dear-the Cross of America™.
It is our goal to produce
nice quality products, yet reasonably priced so everyone who wants them
can afford and display them. We
have new ideas for additional products, but the Cross of America™ lapel
pin is the original vision and the symbol we would like to see displayed
across America on the lapel of each American who believes that God and Country should stand United in times of need. Please
pray for this vision from God to spread, and for His hand to be upon
us as we seek to follow His will in our daily lives and in this venture.
